My articles “Epic #Atheist Fail…” and “Respectable Spectacles and a Perfect Part” are live on @realanews & @freethoughtify, respectively

They’ve actually been live for fucking months, but I’m only now getting around to saying anything about them. And my mention of Freethoughtify is with a note of sadness as, though I’m unclear if the word is official, the rumor is it’s shutting down.

Which makes three now that I’ve also found out that not only SupportAtheism.com, but also AtheistConnect.org have also been long shut down.

An atheist just can’t catch a break! Now I’m down to being hosted by A-News whenever I write stuff for them and someone else, whom I’ll get to once I actually make that work.

Oh, I forgot to mention that the two above-mentioned articles are also under My Articles on the right. Read them! Now!

This was a long time in coming. And I’d be lying if I said it had absolutely nothing to do with this. Sure, I found Keight’s complete dismissal of my points infuriating, but at the time, I was totally willing to let bygones be bygones for the sake of mature decency and the fact that we’re both contributors to Support Atheism and the larger atheism movement. Even when she pulled this horseshit after realizing there was someone who wasn’t lining up to suck her ass.

But, as the months progressed, I noticed my overall willingness to put up with the unending Star Wars references (we get it, Keight: you like Star Wars), the constant, pedantic, condescending, pointless “PWN”ings, and just her attitude and style were wearing mighty thin.

So I ignored her.

I didn’t unsubscribe. I didn’t write any hate mail. I was honestly too lazy to do the former and saw no reason for the latter. But then, I saw this (the original’s been removed, so here’s a similar one):

I was both appalled and not surprised at all. I’d always thought the chick couldn’t deal with those who disagreed with her, even if they had pretty fucking good reason for it. And I’d actually been on her side of the “babies are atheists” debate until the above cats convinced me otherwise.

But to see her fail so miserably at not only making her argument, but also being decent in her rebuttal of tUKA and TBA, that was it. The straw. I grant my respect, time, and attention to those I feel merit it.

Will this make any difference at all in Keight’s life? Of course not. One less fan of her thousands won’t make a dent in her views or ad revenue.

But at least her bullshit will have two fewer ears on which to fall.

I did this bit a long time ago, but never got around to posting it here. It’s brief and a traditional response to the traditional assertion that atheism is just another religion. In case anyone’s wondering why it’s not also live on Support Atheism, as of this writing, they’re moving servers and updating, so have a whole backlog of material (mine and others’) that they have yet to post. Once that happens, I’ll continue to announce it here.

A brief update, some changes, and winter cleaning

In case anyone hadn’t noticed, it’s gotten a bit cluttered on the right. I’ve already started reorganizing as you can see with the new “A-News episodes…” links. I’ll soon tackle the My Media,
De-Conversion Stories, and other stuff, but it’ll take a while.

And that’s the larger point. As I’ve mentioned in the past, I don’t get around to some things that quickly because this whole endeavor is exhausting, and I’m doing other things as well (or so you’d hope, right? I wouldn’t have much of a life if this were all I did!). As such, I’m officially announcing that my former semi-policy of trying to post at least once a day is now defunct. My promise is that I’ll try at least once a week.

What do I mean?

I mean that since I’ve gotten so much more involved in making videos for A-News and my own, I’ve had a lot less time to write posts, and much to Support Atheism’s and Atheist Connect’s chagrin, write articles. Believe it or not, I still have a number of articles in the works. So fewer essay-ish posts for now. And fewer “isn’t this neat?” posts with little other content than simply promoting something.

And I haven’t even mentioned my still-in-progress short film on my de-conversion!

There you go. Less frequency and reorganization of already existing content.

No, that’s not a euphemism for anything. On a friend’s recommendation, I’ve started a Tumblr account. How do I have time for this site, my Support Atheism, Atheist Connect, and A-News contributions, in addition to my YouTube channel and Facebook page, you ask?

I don’t.

As anyone who’s visited the Facebook page can attest, I don’t do much with that. The intention was to put bits of first-run stuff there, and I would have, had I figured out how to make the damn Twitter forward to it. I haven’t given up on it yet, it’s just not a huge priority yet. And the fact is, without, to borrow a computer term, a large enough install base, I’m just not sure there’s a huge need for the Facebook page as of yet. (Enough “yet”s yet?)

But this isn’t about that.

My point of the above things is that no, I don’t have time for it all, but what I’ve noticed is I’ve tended to collect little bits and pieces, like links to videos and articles, that I want to share with the world, and sometimes even comment on, but I just don’t find the time. However, with Tumblr’s bit on simply forwarding or
“re-blogging” things, I figured that’d be a nice way to go.

So the general rule will be if I just want to share something, without taking the time to, at-length, comment on it, it goes on Tumblr. if I do want to comment, it goes on here and becomes a post. If I want to say a ton of shit, it becomes an article for SA and AC. If it becomes something where I feel I actually want to say things (as opposed to writing them), it goes up on YouTube.

Case-by-case basis.
